It might come as a surprise but velvet isn’t something I have been crazy about, nor was I excited when various brands showcased their velvet pieces prior to the velvet hysteria. Don’t get me wrong, I love different textures, but velvet and I couldn’t seem to a find a mutual ground that felt right. That was until I stumbled upon a striped velvet set from Baum Und Pfertgarden, they manage to get me every time – and now, not so anti-velvet any longer.
However set’s are something I’m a huge fan of. Why? Well for instance, these pants are killers separate, meaning a great key-piece that will add some real flare to your look. Same goes for the blazer, great key-piece that a person with a monochrome minimalistic style could easily rock as well as a person who’s alla about colors (e.i. yours truly). Together, they make a strong case, which is why a t-shirt and sneakers felt like the perfect items to pair this look with.
Secondly, this look is something I could wear at the office, or at a Christmas party and everything in between which is also something that plays a big role when I’m looking for new pieces to add to my wardrobe. It has to be versatile, I don’t own a lot of ”party” items because I don’t want to feel restricted to only being able to wear a certain item to a certain event. My dear friend Chrystelle mentioned something similar in the latest issue of Metro Mode Magazine (page 84), she’s also the talent who captured me at her beautiful home with these photos.
