Being a typical Scorpio that I am, change is something I’m drawn too. Maybe that’s why I’ve moved so many times in the past, or maybe I have a restless soul? But a change of scenery does me well, new energi and new inspiration plus the fact of how one actually grows as a person from one single trip. It amazes me every single time.

Not only does a change of scenery me well but also being able to communicate in what state of mind I am through my personal style. Some genius once said something like personal style is telling people who you are without having to speak – that correlated with me and have become a way of defining style.

Nevertheless, I’ve been feeling a change of style bubbling up to the horizon. This time, it took me a while before I could get a clear visual of how the expression would look. The majority of the pieces of the puzzles have been laid down a long time ago, I had a sense of direction but since I am a extremely visual person I couldn’t make the shift before I could see it.

After years of minimalistic Scandi-oriented pieces a monochrome palett of colors with a sleeker hairstyle it dawned on me that it represented so little of who I am. Truth be told, it was only a fraction of the whole persona. My playfulness didn’t come through, my corkiness was MIA and I felt just blend. And if you’ve been following along on Snapchat, you know that I am anything but as serious as the person appears on these photos.

As I am writing this text, I can help but to think whether the change of style is a manifestation of me becoming more comfortable with who I am. Maybe I haven’t been as so open with myself to the fullest, and now that things are changing it enables me to share more sides of me. One could think I’ve keep my curls a secret these past years, maybe that goes hand in hand with sharing more of me as well?

That being said, I will leave it up to you to create your own idea own what direction my style is taking and why. I hope you share your thoughts, as you know I always find it a pleasure reading you comments and feedback.

So without further ado, let me transport you back to last month in London. My friend and I hopped in a car to squeeze in a visit to Sky Garden, a garden located in a skyscraper in central London. A true dream for anyone who loves architecture and gardens, in other words yours truly.

Maybe  its only me, but there’s something about a view overlooking a city that makes me take a minut and reflect. Reflect over life, work, family and people whom come and gone. Whilst overlooking the grand view, things have a tendency of falling into perspective. It’s almost meditative – I used to do this back in Los Angeles too. Hiked up all the way to Runyon Canyon and at the top I took a break just to reflect.

With all that said, I’m happy to share some of  the photos we shoot after our shoot at Sky Garden. This view is worth the experience, I assure you that. Another thing I can assure, is investing in classic pieces, especially those with a modern touch or twist.

What breathes mode London than a beige trench coat? Or the topic of classics when discussing loafers, or denim for that matter? All London! Yes, and thats the origin of both brands, I’m talking about River Island and Stella McCartney? The Pashi Mini Bag is from 3.1 Philip Lim, not UK based but defiantly a classic when talking about bags. What are your go-to classic pieces? Why are they your favorites? As always, you know I love to read your thought and comment so please comment below.

Marc Jacobs Rendez-Vous

A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of visiting Marc Jacobs store for their press presentation, not only was I amazed by the current and upcoming collection but also the fact that Marc Jacobs has merged the mainline and with Marc by Marc Jacobs – but also because Marc has designed the collections himself.

What I loved about the current SS16 collection is how Marc’s irony and playfulness really shines through. These jeans was a instant crush, from the well-made silhuetts to the details – a perfect example of a classic piece with a Marc twist.

Due to the nostalgic feel of the jeans, I decided to go for a 90’s vibe by layering a sleepwear over my t-shirt and a Karl Lagerfel bag. The combination of the blues and orange is such a great match, what do you guys think? And what are your thoughts about the brands merging into one line, as well as Marc designing it himself?

As for the third part of the series of alter-ego’s, I want to start by sharing my joy over how the previous series has been received by you all. Reading your interpretations and thoughts has been delightful, a beautiful reminder of why enjoying sharing subjects that don’t fall under normal sorts of conversations in the fashion/lifestyle blog hemisphere.

However, I have always enjoyed finding my own path in life instead of following others. It’s been a strength to be able to see new opportunities, as well caused things to maybe take longer time. Regardless, it’s a part of the journey and I’ve learned to appreciate life lessons, instead of getting stuck when things aren’t running as smoothly.

Speaking of strength, lets take a look at the previous. The girl in the red dress, that’s her. She’s alway been a determinate soul, full of appetite for life and with a inner understanding for things in a different perspective. With a rich inner life, she’s been able to feel herself forward and with life’s trials and tribulations grown a greater inner strength.

But when you have alter-egos with strong contrast, yet not too far from each other one can at times find it challenging to differentiate them. The word strength can appear in so many shapes, yet what has the final saying is how our mind perceive strength. For me, strength doesn’t necessary have to be something big and bold, it can be the opposite – fragile and vulnerable. Have you have the subject the thought it deserves?

And who is the person in this series? What does her clothes and how she carries herself tell you? Does she look any different from the previous series? Finally, I am very grateful to read your comments. Learning each others minds pathways can be a gift, it enables us to see the world in a different light which lead our minds to grow.
