The Art Of Principles

If you don’t have anything to say, don’t say anything at all. There are a few principles that I don’t compromise on, they’ve been practiced far too long and developed into a routine – a way of being.

Although I find myself conflicted at times, debating with myself whether to say something just for the sake of letting you know that I am very much alive and not only busy with my day-to-day grind, but alive in a great place as well. Things are falling into place and shortly I can reveal what has been going on behind the curtains. In a matter of fact, before finishing this projects new ones have been born and I find myself with too little time and so many amazing opportunities to embrace. Yes, that what I do with opportunities. Embrace them, because they haven’t come my way just for the sake of them but because every move has been a calculated step towards in putting myself in that position.

When I was in my mid-twenties and worked at a bank, I started in the bottom of the hierarchy and after three years as a product developer. Not bad, right? By practicing the principle of doing whatever I’m doing as good as I possibly can open up new doors – doors I

thought I needed a special education to endeavor before being qualified to even apply.

Turns out, if you do whatever you’re doing in a great manner it will be recognized and new opportunities will present themselves. Sometimes it’s a solid knock on your door while other times its whispering wind, make sure to keep your eyes and ear open at all times.

However, be mindful before saying yes and take pride of the work you do but also know what your work is about. Regardless if you’re in a creative field of something else, other will notice not only how you execute the work but also what sort of work you’re doing. For instance, as a influencer/blogger you have barely seen me post articles from events. Especially press-event unless I find them relevant to my platform and my audience – in fact, I have respectfully declined to certain events when the PR-rep’s demand is to blog about the event. I can’t guarantee I will because what I publish matters and if I’m not sure I can’t stand up for every word that is being read than I’d rather not.

In the end, its about keeping it real. You’re saving your self the headache as well as other, plus your audience can tell if whatever is being published is truly you or a sponsored post. There are far too many heavily sponsored blogs out there, if you want to take a unique stand then you better have a clear idea about who you are and what you are about – and if you don’t know, start painting the imagine of who you want to be and why.

My sole intention with this space is it to be honest and be inspired by the interaction I’m able to generate with everyone of you, regardless of your background, geographical location, dreams and aspirations. Therefore, principles have overtime developed a routine, created new doors and also closed others but at least I can take pride in doing what I believe with character. After all, aren’t we tiered of all those Outfit Of The Day posts or check out my new blah blah [insert clothes, shoes, etc… I think you get my point]  posts that does not give any significance to this creative canvases we call life? Or am I the only one craving content with substance?

With easter closing up on us, I wanted to take the opportunity and gather some of my loved ones for a little feast. Although I don’t celebrate easter, I thought it would be nice to do a easter inspired table setting.

Disclaimer, I have no idea what a proper setting should look like and if there are any actual rules. But if there’s anything I have some knowledge about is to layer fabrics and playing with colours. Speaking of colours, blue hues are currently trending in the interior world has truly made an impact on me, which is why I thought it would be fun to create my own spin on a easter decoration.

All the fabrics are from HIMLA, a Swedish brand that offers a wide selection of home interior for every possible room. What I love about their wide range of products is that how various series and styles can easily be mixed together, and the fact that these item are modern yet timeless. Yes, I’m applying my fashion philosophy to interior as well.

All these items can be found here, what are you plans for Easter? And what do you think about my table setting? Did I break any rules?

The past weeks I have almost been hoarding white shirts, preferably with wide sleeves. A white shirt is classic staple, and what I love about the new silhuettes is the new spin its given.

During Fashion Month we could see more new spins on a classic shirt, they where deconstructed and presented in new way which I felt was very exciting. So excited so I decided to layer up two shirt and create a fashion-forward-yet-somewhat-manrepelling-look. Score!

I like the contrast of the a white shirt with its wide sleeves under the striped one who’s worn almost lite a top, tied around my waist. You can also wear a t-shirt as a base instead of a shirt, perfect when the weather allows bare arm. That being said, its always fun to let your imagination play its roll when getting dressed – don’t you think? The truth is, it don’t necessarily have to be that hard.

No collection is complete without an amazing pair of statement sunglasses. Everyone should have a pair of statement shades to bring out when they’re feeling bold. Once in a while it’s fun to rock an eye-catching, fashion forward look and a great pair if statement shades can totally transform an outfit from drab to fab in an second.

From over-the-top shapes to colorful reflective lenses, bold sunglasses will be a fashion favourite this year. Last season when I spotted Stella McCartney’s kitty sunglasses and felt very drawn to them – a timeless design upgraded with a modern and playful twist. Fast-forward to a couple of weeks ago when I spotted their SS16 collection I knew these soft pink cat-eye sunglasses with mirrored lenses where the ones.

These spec’s  has capsuled three important trend elements that makes them the perfect statement shades.

1. Cat-eyes

This shape is not only on trend this season but also AW16. You can’t go wrong with a pair of cateye sunglasses. They are the perfect way of adding depth and drama to a simple outfit, i.e. statement!

2. Mirrored Lense

Mirrored lenses made a strong comeback a few years ago when everybody where wearing blue or green mirrored RayBan’s, remember? This season, they’re making a stronger comeback in various designs and colors. Exiting right? One of the person of mirrored lenses? No one can actually see where you are looking. Not bad, right?

3. Colorful Shades

This season is all about colours, give your old sunglasses a break and try something new and different. A pair of red sunglasses or leopard printed would have been my second and third choice if it wasn’t for these beautiful soft pink-nudeish shade.

Whats not to love about style statement that’s both functional and cool as hell?

3 Tips for Buying a Designer Handbag

With spring just around the corner it felt more than right to add a new piece to my bag collection. When choosing a new bag I usually think about a few thing before I make my move – after all, I want it to ba a piece that adds something different to the collection yet can grow old with.

1. Design

How is the bag actually designer, from the quality of the material to the actual design. Is it timeless or is this just a piece thats currently trending but will fade sooner or later.

2. Uniqness

Meaning, do I already have something similar. What could the piece add to a look and what sort of flavour does it add. Does it make a look more sportier, casual, chicer and so on? And lastly, color! If you’re just starting with putting together a bag collection, starting with a black bag is a greta idea but you don’t want to have just a collection of black bags, right?

3. Forecast

I don’t pick up a bag just because its trending, it needs to have done a deeper impact. Also, I need to see that its going to be a piece that will still add that touch for upcoming seasons.

Therefore, for spring I decided to finally get my hands on a beautiful 3.1 Philip Lim Mini Satchel, in a soft eggshell tone. It has a hint of soft pink in with goes perfectly with all things spring and current trends. Also, upcoming trends. The design itself is amazing, material is beautiful and truth is that I started lusting over this piece when I used to live in the U.S. – e.i. many years ago!

Are you guys thinking about getting a new piece for spring? Which one? And what are your thoughts when pining up a new piece?
