Sunday Winter Day

Hope you had a great time these past few days, you’re probably recovering from all the festivities. As for recovering, December tends t be a stressful month for many. The preparations for the holidays, projects finalizes at work and so on. Here at our HQ, Sundays are the day with a capital D for recovering.

Allowing yourself to do nothing can at times be the best gift you can give yourself, have a lazy day in bed and just see how the day develops. As for me, that was exactly what I like to do. The winter has hit Stockholm, wearing anything other that knits is no longer an option. Its the perfect opportunity to stay in and recover.

Since knits has become the go-to material to stay warm, mixing up an outfit with other material makes a look more diverse. Leather is always a good idea, and instead of a beanie, go for a fedora to add a different feeling. Click below to shop similar items.

Monochrome Home Office

As a journalist, having a home office to sit and write has been a dream for some years. A set station to channel thoughts into word, a place where creativity can manifest. We’ve been living in our current apartment in almost one year, and we really love the apartment and the location. Although we know its  only a matter of time before we move again (to something bigger), the dream of a home office continues to grow bigger.

Pinning home offices on Pinterest can be so inspiring that time seams to disappear. Needless to say, monochromatic spaces tend to attract my attention. There is something beautiful, effortless and tranquil about these images. Here’s a few things that could enhance any office space:

–  Candles

Fresh flowers

Coffee table books

– Frame Sets

Desk lamp

The Christmas Sweater

Growing up as a child, we never celebrated Christmas. It was a day of movies with my siblings, when we went out to play in the snow we would catch a glimpse of families gathered together.  This holiday became some what of a mystery, I’d always wondered how it would be to gather and celebrate Christmas.

Also, I always wondered what I would wear on Christmas day. A velvet or lace dress? Maybe with ruffles? Or a pleated skirt with a turtle neck knit? Yesterday, I took a trip to a few stores and found this sweater. It was calling my name. Now what to wear it with other leather pants?

This year, I got the opportunity to gather with Alex family and celebrate Christmas. Here in Sweden, Christmas is celebrated on the 24th. We had an great time, ate amazing Christmas dinner and enjoyed the company of each other.  How are you celebrating this year?  Please share, I’d love to hear from you.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas Wishes

Todays Wednesday Wish list has nothing to do with materialistic things, this time of year brings to mind those things in life that are most important. It reminds us to focus on all the good things around us. I wanted to take the opportunity and shed some light on the things that really matters the most: love, a good health, family, friends and true happiness. In other words, nothing money can’t buy.

That being said, during this season of giving let us take time to slow down and enjoy the simple things. May this wonderful time of year touch your heart in a special way. May you spend this day with family and friends, and may love  and light surround you all. Wishing you much happiness today and throughout the New Year.

Recap of 2014 – Part 1

Another year is coming to an end, it is quite insane how fast time flies. Looking back at all the experiences and goals achieved in 2014, I can’t be anything but happy and proud yet also so motivated and excited for all the things to come. Since December tends to bring out the nostalgic part of me, I wanted to share a few highlight of 2014 from Instagram.  The Recap of 2014 will be divided into four parts, each one covering a quoter of the year.

2014 started with a New Years Eve party with family and friends. It was such a lovely evening, some of our friends had arranged a three course dinner at a restaurant. Although it was cold in January, I stayed true to my loafers before the snow came. January started with an exciting opportunity as well, the Berlin based magazine Sister Mag flew me to Berlin to shoot a feature with the nail polish brand Essie.

The day after the Berlin trip, Alex and I flew to Dubai for some much needed vacation and sun. Dubai is indeed one of my favorite cities, I love the feeling of how the middle east meets the west. Prior to this trip, I had visited Dubai a few years ago.

Here’s three looks from February, two favorite accessories being the hat from & Other Stories and grey bag from H&M. February in general is a little blurry, living in the aftermath of our Dubai trip while looking forward to spring. Although the winter came late, it was my first Swedish winter in three years. Let’s just say that I missed Los Angeles every single day.

The end of February and beginning of March is the beginning of one of my favorite seasons of the year – spring. Whats not to love about more sun hours, the smell of spring and summer getting closer. It is safe to say that a picked up a lot of tulips, took the first opportunity I could to wear spring clothes. In addition, we got a new addition to the family – Canon 5D. Both Alexander and I was really excited about our new family member, it is safe to say that it’s the best camera I’ve ever used. Lats but not least, I started blogging for Projection in March. Little did I know what would happen along the way.
